The Message of the Cross: Christ Crucified

The Upside-Down Wisdom of the Cross ✝️

What if the very thing the world calls "foolish" is actually the greatest power in the universe?

In 1 Corinthians 1:18-31, the Apostle Paul shows us that God’s wisdom doesn't look like the world’s wisdom. While we often chase status, intellectual pride, and human "pedigrees," God chose a different path.

Why the Cross?

*To the Perishing:* It looks like sheer foolishness. The idea of a "Christ crucified" was a stumbling block to some and nonsense to others.

*To the Believer:* It is the power of God. It is where our righteousness, holiness, and redemption begin.

The Great Equalizer

- God didn't call the "elite" or the "influential" by human standards to build His kingdom. He chose:

- The foolish things to shame the wise.

- The weak things to shame the strong.

The Only True Boast

When we look at the cross, every earthly accomplishment is "nailed there, dead." We have nothing to brag about in our own strength. Everything we have is a gift.

"Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord." (1 Cor 1:31)

Reflection: Are you leaning on your own "wisdom" today, or are you resting in the power of the Cross?
