"Get Behind Me Satan" - Mark 8:33

Imagine being called "Satan" by Jesus! That's exactly what happened to Peter when he rebuked Jesus for predicting His suffering and death.

Jesus had just revealed His plan to go to Jerusalem to suffer, die, and be raised to life, but Peter envisioned a triumphant and conquering Messiah. Rather than letting Jesus define His own Messiahship and follow God's plan, Peter wanted Jesus to conform to what he wanted from Him.

Jesus wasn't calling Peter the devil—He was rejecting Satan's temptation spoken through Peter's well-meaning but misguided words.

The lesson? We're prone to believing that God should operate on our terms. When His plan doesn't align with ours, we question His intentions.

Sometimes love means trusting God's plan over our preferences. 🙏
