In the first half of his reign, King Asa was a powerhouse of faith—destroying pagan altars, executing a national covenant, and even stripping his own grandmother of her crown to purge idolatry. Yet, under geopolitical pressure, his faith cracked. He ended his life stripping the Temple of gold to buy foreign allies, jailing God's prophets, and ignoring the Lord in his deepest physical agony.
