The road to redemption – as seen in the parable of the prodigal son – is typically viewed with a lost (unsaved) soul. Instead, it has everything to do with a child of God who has gone prodigal (left God), then returned to Him. This is section of the parable is a message of hope (Luke 15:11-24) to God’s lost children (who are likened to the “sinners and tax collectors” to whom Jesus shared this parable).
