The “model church” is missing from so many professed churches belonging to the Lord. It’s time to emulate it, not just talk about it.
Christian women are a HUGE asset and a great value to their families as well as to the Lord’s church and yes, the spreading of the gospel!
In the previous lesson of this three part series we saw the need for overseers to be “above reproach” as revealed in the Scriptures. This last lesson focuses our attention to the flock and our need to honor those who rule over the congregation of God’s people.
Because the Lord’s church is made up “saved sinners” (admit it, we may strive to live for the Lord, but we are still prone to sin. Rom. 7) the wisdom of God has revealed our need for godly men to serve as Shepherds of the flock. These men won’t live forever and thus our need for more shepherds.
The body of Christ is not made of a few members that do the work of the whole body. If healthy, EVERY part – no matter how seemingly insignificant – plays a vital role to the well-being of that body. Such is the Lord’s church.
